 Diffuser2 Plus_Sign_clip_art_medium_red  ChristmasSpirit3

What a beautiful scent Christmas Spirit is…  I always have it going at Christmas time and it is soooo nice.

See some of the tips below for other ways you can use it, especially vacuuming!!

According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, this beautiful blend is:

“A purifying blend of evergreen, citrus, and spice, reminiscent of winter holidays, and brings joy, peace, happiness, and security.”

Ingredients:

Orange (Citrus sinensis) is elevating to the mind and body, bringing security, joy, and peace.

Cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum verum) is the oil of wealth from the Orient and part of the formula the Lord  gave  Moses  (Exodus 30:22-27).

Emperors of China and India measured their wealth partly by the amount of cinnamon they possessed.  Traditionally, it was thought to have a frequency  that attracted  wealth and abundance.  It brings back memories of wassail, home-cooked food, and fond memories of the  holidays.

Spruce (Picea mariana) helps the respiratory and nervous systems. It is anti-infectious, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory.  Its aromatic influences help to open and release emotional blocks, bringing about a feeling of balance and grounding. Traditionally, spruce oil was believed to possess the frequency of prosperity. This oil brings  memories of Christmas trees and makes the whole house feel more like home during the holidays.

Application:

  • Dilute 1 part essential oil to 1 part V-6 Vegetable  Oil Complex.
  • Diffuse, inhale directly, or add 2-4 drops to bath water.
  • Apply 1 to 2 drops over heart, on wrists, neck, temples, or foot Vita Flex points.
  • Dilute 1:15 with vegetable oil for a full-body massage.
  • Put 2 drops on a wet cloth and put in clothes dryer.
  • Put 4-8 drops on cotton balls or tissues and put in or on vents.
  • Add to cedar chips for dresser drawers.
  • Add a few drops to the wood before putting it in the fireplace.
  • Splash a few drops on your paper vacuum cleaner bag for an uplifting and happy feeling while cleaning the house.

Possible sun/skin sensitivity.

Happy Oiling,

Are You Using Your Oils?

Are You Using Your Oils?

Let’s face it, so many things to do…

It’s not difficult to fall into the habit of ignoring the tools we have to help us with our health.  But unless we USE them, we’re not getting the benefit, which is the reason you bought them in the first place.

Why did you choose to purchase a particular oil or supplement?

Was there something you had in mind to heal or repair?

My box of oils

Here are my boxes of oils, that I keep front and center in the master bath.

(hmmm…  mistress bath?)To help me find things quickly, one box is for blends, the other for singles. Each is then loosely in alphabetical order so that I can quickly grab what I’m looking for.I also keep several bottles in various parts of the house: the kitchen, the living room, my desk and nightstand.

If we neglect the daily habits of using our oils, we’re not implementing what we already know.  Using what you have, you can benefit daily and over the course of months and years, strengthen and repair so many different aspects of your health: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. What’s on Your Everyday Shelf of Oils?

My shelf of oils

It’s easy to have a selection of oils out that you can use daily.  During my morning and evening routines, they’re easy to grab and use.  Plus you smell so good!

Grapefruit, Lemon, Orange, and Tangerine?

Grapefruit, Lemon, Orange, and Tangerine?

Citrus!

Keeping this short and sweet once again for summer…

I love all of the citrus oils.
I have 1 or 2 bottles of each, always.
I use them in my water, in my diffuser and you would not believe how great they taste and how good the house smells after you’ve diffused Orange or Tangerine!

Grapefruit:

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) has a fresh, citrus aroma that is energizing and uplifting. Rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene, it is nourishing to the skin. Like many coldpressed citrus oils, it is a popular oil to use in conjunction with weight management programs. Grapefruit may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Lemon:

Lemon (Citrus limon) has a strong, purifying, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. Lemon consists of 68 percent dlimonene, a powerful antioxidant. It is delightfully refreshing in water and may be beneficial for the skin. Lemon may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. Lemon essential oil is cold-pressed from the rinds of lemons. Jean Valnet MD estimated that it takes 3,000 lemons to produce one kilo of oil. In his book, The Practice of Aromatherapy, Valnet wrote that lemon is a tonic for supporting the nervous and sympathetic nervous system.

Orange:

Orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil has a rich, fruity scent that lifts the spirit while providing a calming influence on the body. Orange brings peace and happiness to the mind. It is rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene and aids in maintaining normal cellular regeneration.* Orange may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Tangerine:

Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) is a calming essential oil with a sweet, tangy aroma, similar to orange. It helps with occasional nervous irritability. An excellent oil to help uplift the spirit and bring about a sense of security, tangerine is also rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene. Tangerine may also be used to enhance the flavor of food.

Product Tips

  • Use 1–2 drops of lemon essential oil to remove gum, oil, grease spots, glue or adhesive, and crayon from most surfaces.
  • Combine 2–3 drops of lemon essential oil with water in a spray bottle to help cleanse and sanitize surfaces.
  • Place a drop of lemon essential oil on oily skin or blemishes to help balance oil glands and minimize oil production.
  • Soothe corns, calluses, or bunions by rubbing lemon essential oil on the affected area morning and evening.
  • Massage lemon essential oil into cellulite to help improve circulation and eliminate waste from cells.
  • Add lemon essential oil to your morning tea or breakfast shake for a refreshing pick-me-up.
  • Inhale lemon essential oil or place a few drops on a cotton ball to replenish your mind, body, and spirit.
  • Add 10–15 drops of lemon essential oil to a gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help pull out stains, brighten carpet and rugs, and leave a fresh smell in the room.
  • Add several drops of lemon essential oil to a chicken marinade for a delicious dinner.
  • Place a few drops of your favorite citrus essential oil on a cotton ball and put in the refrigerator to help eliminate odors.

Hmmmmm… What should I use?

Hmmmmm… What should I use?

Have you ever wanted to have just one source as your ‘go-to’ for all your health questions?

One that was quick, easy and totally accessible anytime you needed it?

I often field questions from my clients, friends and family on what the recommendations are for the oils they can use to clear up a certain condition they’ve developed.  Or if they want to make an improvement in a certain area, but aren’t sure how to approach it.

Often what I find is that when I give the solution,  my friends get this glazed over look like, “How could I possibly learn all this or know all this?  How do I remember it, and how do I know they work?”

I know it can be a challenge.  Let’s face it, with so many alternatives out there as we transition from allopathic to more holistic solutions, the task of self-education can be daunting.

I remember I started learning about alternative medicine in 1980 when my part time job during college was at a health food store.  Whoa!  The books, the supplements, the strange foods… what was all that stuff?

In my studies I learned how herbs had been used since the beginning of civilization as the primary source of medicine in all cultures.  For centuries since, doctors have used herbs as a primary source for treating ailments, until only a few short decades ago when pharmaceuticals started to be developed.  As I learned, I started out with herbal teas and tinctures with books and reference manuals on what to do with what.  My studies continued for years!

What my early studies looked like before I discovered Young Living Essential Oils

In 1996 I discovered Young Living Essential Oils when my massage therapist started using them on my stuck shoulder.

Very quickly the injury was resolved!   I decided to relinquish all other forms of herbal remedies and focus on these highly concentrated versions that came in such a compact bottle.  No teas, no tinctures, and very much stronger.

There are a wide variety of oils available for you to enjoy.

Once I discovered Dr. Gary Young, his work and integrity, I was relieved to find a source I could trust and stop trying to learn about all the new things constantly coming out on the market.

At that time Young Living used to send us out training cassettes to listen to, and little by little, I learned what to use for what.

Eventually in 1999, we got the first edition of what was called then, “The People’s Desk Reference.”

Woohoo!

Now everything was in one place, including education on the body’s systems, how to cleanse, balance hormones, and much more.  Best of all, an entire section that listed in alphabetical order the various health conditions and how to treat them with YL oils and supplements.

The original People’s Desk Reference

The original 1999 version of The People’s Desk Reference for Essential Oils.

It was later transformed into the Essential Oils Desk Reference, or the EODR.

Five editions later, guess what?
We now have it online in an electronic version!

Now things are even easier.

It’s so easy to log-in from anywhere there is an internet connection (including your phone) and look something up in just a few minutes.

Sprained an ankle?

Spider bite?

Poison Ivy?

The flu?

Did you know you can improve your vision no matter what your age?

There really is so much to discover there.

You can find the solutions and recommendations you’re looking for quickly and easily.  No need to hesitate in contacting me or to get that glazed-over look when I tell you the recommendations and then decide if you should go for it or not.

Trust yourself!   As you read your solution, does it seem such a risk to purchase a few oils and supplements and heal yourself naturally?

I’ve just learned Life Science Publishing has the electronic version of the EODR available for only $20 until May 28th.  Normally the cost is $39.95, and they’ve had it on sale since April 19th. I had no idea!

I hope you can see the ease ~
