Why Have Peppermint Oil?

Another very important oil to have…

Peppermint is a very powerful and stimulating oil to have around.  Just one drop of oil equals 40 cups of tea!  So be aware, although you will receive quite a bit of supporting information in this email, going off and having a cup of peppermint tea will not bring the same effects!  You will need high quality, medicinal grade essential oils, and Young Living oils are the highest grade available worldwide.

Peppermint is highly stimulating to the mind, bringing clarity and focus very quickly.  It solves and relieves stomach upset and is great for kids for this reason.  It has been known to relieve your sore muscles and injuries receive relief when applied, including relieving headaches.  Peppermint can even curb your appetite when those cravings come up!  I keep a bottle on my desk to keep me mentally stimulated, focused and alert when working.

Mentha piperita

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma.  It is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion.  Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint’s supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also researched peppermint’s role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint’s ability to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint’s ability to directly affect the brain’s satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals. This powerful essential oil is often diluted before topical application. Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

What People Are Saying

Peppermint for digestive issues

“If I get heartburn, indigestion, queasiness, gas, or any other stomach/intestinal symptom, I take 4 drops of peppermint oil in a small glass of water.  No matter what the issue is, the peppermint makes it go away within minutes.  Peppermint is also anti-viral, and this past winter when lots of people around me had the stomach flu, I took peppermint every day and didn’t get sick.”
-Cynthia Tahtinen, Wisconsin

 Peppermint for headaches and sinuses

“I had a terrible headache that nothing would touch. I put peppermint oil on my forehead, temples and neck and felt so much better within seconds! Also, Michigan summers can be hot and humid and I feel all ‘stuffed-up.’ I can feel the peppermint oil penetrating my nose and sinuses and feel ‘cleared-up’ very quickly.  Thirdly, it tastes so good and yummy, like a peppermint candy stick without all that sugar!
-Angel Brock, Michigan

 Peppermint for vomiting

“The first time I used peppermint is when two of my children ate too much holloween candy and were vomiting.  A drop of peppermint rubbed over their tummies stopped the vomiting.  A few years later we were hit bad with some kind of terrible stomach flu that caused everyone in my home to vomit until they were so tired and drained we just wanted to die.  Finally I took out the peppermint and applied it to every tummy and we got immediate relief from the vomiting and were able to rest and fall asleep and recover.  Thank goodness for peppermint oil. ”

Why Lavender Oil?

Why Lavender Oil?

Founder of Young Living Essential Oils, Gary Young has often said that if he had to choose only one oil, the most important would be Lavender.

Personally, I always have one or two bottles around the house and one in my purse. It has alleviated my headaches, burns, cramps and helped me sleep. It’s been an excellent tool for hormone balancing. It’s been said, “If you don’t know what to use, use Lavender.”  I apply it after every shower, spreading it around the chest area. Gary has said if every woman used Lavender on her breasts daily, she would have no need to worry about tumors ever growing. Young Living’s Lavender Oil has been rated the highest quality in the world by 3rd party analysts, much to the dismay of the Europeans who have been growing and using Lavender for centuries!

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty. It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. The French scientist René Gattefossé was among the first to discover these properties when he was severely burned in a laboratory explosion. Lavender may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.

What People are Saying

Lavender, My Favorite

“I always carry lavender in my purse. No matter what the problem, lavender seems to help. I have arthritis and fibro, so I rub it on my painful & numb feet, any sore muscles, my thumbs, knees, shoulders & neck. It helps for relaxation too – I put a drop under my nose or on my earlobes. For a cut or burn, lavender aids in healing (for cold sores too.) If I have any problem and am not sure what oil to use… I depend on my lavender.”

– Darlene Staples, Wisconsin

Lavender for mystery skin condition

“My husband had a patch of bumpy skin on the side of his hand for several months. It didn’t seem to fit the description in the Essential Oil Desk Reference of either Psoriasis or Eczema, but both of those conditions recommended Lavender, so that’s what we tried. After he had been putting a drop of Lavender oil on it each night for just a couple of nights it began to shrink, and after about 6 weeks it was gone totally.”

-Vicky Goodridge, North Carolina

Had headaches for years

“A friend was telling me that she has had a headache every day for the last several years. I suggested that she try Lavender essential oil. She rubbed it behind her ears twice a day and would take an occasional Lavender bath. She reported that she has had no headaches since using the Lavender.

– Linda Griffith, New Mexico

Lavender for Allergies

“At times I get allergy symptoms with itchy eyes, congestion etc. I massage a drop of Lavender into the back of my neck, on my ears, and sometimes above my brow and on my sinuses (being careful to avoid the eyes) and within minutes the symptoms subside. I LOVE Lavender!

– Rita Desnoyers-Garcia, New Jersey
